This talented young Colombian painter has had a rapid development in his work, initiating with very expressionistic landscapes surely inspired by his formation as a geologist, but with a very bold use of colour.
More recently, though without abandoning his interest in the veiled natural landscape, a more urban landscape has come forth as an exhilarating explosion of colour expressed in the overlaying of transparencies of clean, brilliant colours and shapes that remind the viewer of universal modern cities and ports full of the excitement of neon and the fervency and pace of modernity. Now and then, a human figure makes appearance though more like a mute witness to all the bustling and confusion of the streets and city life, in the intertwined perspectives of its lines and plans.
